Awards

The below awards are open to any full, associate, or student member in good standing of the MDCGC. We have a total of up to $2500 to award this year. We can therefore accept requests for up to $2500, but please keep in mind that we may award more than one proposal and therefore the issued funds may be lower than the requested amount.

Applications are due by Friday, August 28, 2026. No applications submitted after this date will be accepted. All applicants will be notified of the decision via email by Friday, September 25, 2026. Please email any questions to info@mdcgc.org.

Winners of both awards will be asked to present at the 2026 MDCGC conference.

MDCGC Research Award

The MDCGC Awards Subcommittee would like to invite your application for member-initiated research proposals and publication initiatives for members of MDCGC.

MDCGC GC Enrichment Award

We would also like to invite your proposal for any projects that promote the genetic counseling profession and/or well-being of genetic counselors in the Maryland and DC area. This could include, but is not limited to, educational programs, networking/team-building events, or career development opportunities, but should be something that benefits more than just the individual who is applying. Please note that this does not include reimbursement for conference fees, certification or licensure fees, dues, etc.
